Editing audio visual jobs require a combination of musical ability, excellent hearing, and computer skills. Working with the recording file, the editor is responsible for creating a finished product that meets the requirements of the client in terms of quality, length, and technology platform.
Producing is focused on controlling all aspects of the audio and video recording to produce a desired effect in the audience. The role of producer is to provide a structure to the recording and create a finished product. In many projects, the producer has project management responsibilities, and the recording and editing process is completed by staff under their direction.
Managing staff, resources, and the business process is an important role. The amount of work involved depends greatly on the industry and the type of clients that use the firm’s services. For example, a movie studio will typically require a significant amount of interaction with the manager, as they need to coordinate services, staff, resources, and providing oversight into the project. It is important to note that this type of job is typically only available to people with at least ten years experience in a wide range of other audio visual jobs.
